about

It is with great pleasure to welcome a new and original Iceman Furniss Quartet bootlegged selection of works to the page!

Iceman Furniss Quartet are a completely improvised, Punk projecting, Avant-Garde Jazz group from Bristol.

These are Big Fuss’ picks from what felt like a really great session of improvisations. The four of us came into it particularly freed up with all the time that had passed over lockdown and approached the music with new, fresh ideas to bring to each other. The recording of it was raw and the outcome was similar. More playful, and a little more free in it’s expression, pushing ideas around form, structure and genre further. It was initially a practice session which later became this bootleg, so I’m very surprised and happy with how it has all unfolded since.

A massive thank you Thom, Harry and Ant for supporting me with humility in releasing this. It is always such a privilege to play with you guys.

The official debut Iceman Furniss Quartet album will hopefully be out this year, keep your eyes and ears open.
