about

'Lovely' is a non-chronological, abstract account of the last year and a bit. It's been a weird but wonderfully important time in my life and so I have been inspired to produce something reflective of, primarily, my love, but also my new drive in work and play outside of composing and creating music.

This album, to me, is my most refined piece. It feels like it encompasses a lot of the approaches that I have worked on in previous Big Fuss projects and as a result, feels full and done with less fear of ruining continuity. This is something that I think helps in allowing it to be more colourful than a lot of my previous work.

This album is also in association with me and Harry Furniss' new, blooming record label 'Improv's Greatest Hits', which has provided some direction and motivation in my own musical vision. I make a subtle homage to the label on Humankind In Bloom, featuring voices of artists who will be a part of the launch. Coming soon.

Anyway, I hope I've left enough space for interpretation, and I also hope it makes for an enjoyable listen.
