Music For is an exploration of free jazz sounds and expression in a refreshed format. The single, and original title track, is a long, full band free piece based around a piano performance. The general sentiment of this track came from what has been happening in the news recently regarding the BLM movement. It is particularly important for me to address this through music, and as I have been thinking lots about my predominantly Black musical influences, I am now looking at how I can homage them respectfully in my music without capitalising on the rich culture that it comes from. I believe music is all about expression and I cannot claim that in using the same expressive approach/form as these musicians, I am expressing ideas from the same place (nor to the same standard and execution). I have been inspired and I hope that if anything, I inspire people to listen to more of the Black music that has set my love for music and creativity on fire.

The second two improvisations are more reflective of my life and don't carry the same weight but i believe they compliment the first piece and are still relevant in a different way to my efforts.
